What is FacilityForce Locate?

Locate embeds the power of Esri's ArcGIS mapping software into FacilityForce for map-centric asset management. Rather than viewing a simple list of data, Locate brings your data to life by displaying assets, work orders and more on interactive maps that allow you to show or hide layers, zoom in and out, select multiple assets, view detailed information about the assets, and perform actions on those assets. Locate leverages Esri's industry-leading geographic information system (GIS) software to enable location intelligence for your facilities and assets.

The GIS mapping capabilities in Locate provide insightful visualization of your facilities, assets, work orders and more to answer questions such as: Where are all of our facilities located? Where are all the streetlights that need to be upgraded? Where should we locate our new service center? Where, exactly are the potholes that need to be repaired? What's within proximity of the incident/emergency? Show me all the work underway in district 5.

Many organizations have both vertical assets (buildings, systems and components) and horizontal assets (roads, bridges, signals, signs, drainage, landscaping, etc.), also known as facilities and infrastructure. Locate's ability to geolocate assets makes it much easier to manage horizontal asset locations independent of the system's Region/Facility/Property/Location hierarchy (i.e., assets can simply be pinpointed on a map, such as the location of streetlights).

Some agencies/departments manage so many dispersed assets that ArcGIS has become their system of record for everything horizontal. Although ArcGIS is a great repository for this asset data, it wasn't designed to manage work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory, the tracking of costs, strategic planning, resource scheduling, process workflows, and all the other capabilities found in FacilityForce. As such, the ideal scenario is to use Locate to couple FacilityForce with your Esri database to leverage and add value to the asset data you already have in ArcGIS.
